Wesgreen International School was founded in 1991 in Sharjah, and in the years since it has grown to become one of the most successful schools in the area. The School has been advancing excellence in education for more than two decades and has been recognized by the Council of International Schools as an accredited school.
The School is divided into three separate sections. The Primary School accommodates students from KG1 to Grade 4. At the end of Grade 4, students move to either the Boys’ or Girls’ Secondary School. The Boys' and Girls' Secondary Schools cater for Grade 5 to Grade 13. The Administration Department is housed on the Secondary Boys’ Campus.
From KG1 to KG2 our students benefit from an international curriculum based upon a combination of The Early Years Foundation Stages, the British National Curricula and the beginnings of the Cambridge Primary Programme. Grades 1 to 6 follow the Cambridge Primary Programme. The Cambridge Primary Programme prepares students for a smooth transition to Cambridge Secondary 1 (Grades 7 & 8). From Grade 9 to 13 our students follow the CIE syllabus for the Cambridge IGCSE, AS and A level examinations. Cambridge International A Level is the world's most popular international examination for 16-18 year olds. As one of the most recognized qualifications around the world it is accepted as proof of academic ability for entry to universities worldwide. At Wesgreen, students are admitted to AS Level in Grade 12. A variety of subjects is offered including Art and Design, Applied ICT, Mathematics, three Sciences, three Business subjects and three Humanities for a desired combination.
Each school has a fully resourced library with multimedia sections as well as extra reading rooms. Our e-Library in the Secondary schools allows students to use curriculum related digital media under professional guidance. The Multimedia Halls in the Secondary schools provide an opportunity to conduct student debates, performances and presentations. All campuses have well-equipped Art Rooms with top quality resources to allow students of all age groups to express their ideas creatively and independently. There are well-equipped gymnasiums on all four campuses together with large fields for football and cricket, multipurpose courts for volleyball and tennis, and a swimming pool in the Primary Section. The enthusiasm for sports of each and everyone can be seen permeating through the school and is evident during matches that are held at famous venues. We also conduct internal tournaments and participate in many other external tournaments. Swimming, scuba diving and horse-riding courses are also offered as extra curricular activities to give the students a wonderful time learning different kinds of sports. Wesgreen is geared towards excellence with its Vision "To be the UAE's premier school of choice, by inspiring our students to reach their potential, academically, socially, physically and morally". The school assures commitment to promoting internationalism, as well as dedication to excellence in all aspects of providing student-centred education.
