  • How long have you been at GEMS?

I joined GEMS Education in 2018 after working with various consultancy companies, NGOs, universities and school systems in the region.

  • What attracted you to GEMS Education?
I was attracted to GEMS by its reputation for delivering quality education and for being a place where professionals can truly develop their careers. I had heard so much about GEMS’ impact on the education system in the UAE, and how people were successfully growing their careers within GEMS, and that combination appealed to me.
  • What gets you most excited about coming to work?
The people. I am very fortunate to work alongside wonderful colleagues who are passionate, critical and inspiring.
  • What has been the highlight of your career journey at GEMS so far?
The core of my role is to align teaching methodologies in Arabic and Islamic with international best practices and ensure that students are enjoying learning while receiving both challenge and support. There have been many great moments working at GEMS, and making an impact on students’ experiences with Arabic and Islamic. I feel particularly proud when I am observing lessons where students engage in meaningful and enjoyable learning experiences in Arabic and Islamic studies.
  • Describe your average day?
My role is very collaborative and I interact with various departments at schools and the Student Support Centre (SSC). I spend time in schools working with leadership teams and Arabic and Islamic departments conducting learning walks or professional development sessions or developing and monitoring action plans, so no two days are ever the same. I also work closely with the different departments at SSC where we develop and revisit strategies.
  • Describe life at GEMS in three words?
    Inspiring. Motivating. Purposeful.
  • Which of our core values do you experience the most in your day-to-day work life? (care, excellence, one team, always learning)
I believe that excellence sits at the heart of everything we do at GEMS. Everyone is challenged and supported to strive for excellence and be their best.
  • Why does it matter to you to work somewhere that provides purpose and meaning?
I chose a career in education because I am passionate about making a difference for young learners. GEMS places students at the centre of all its strategies and initiatives, and for me that is incredibly valuable.
Our international education footprint extends to 49 schools across the UAE, Qatar and Egypt, delivering a consistent, dynamic, high-quality education for every child.
