International Baccalaureate Programme

Many GEMS Education schools are accepted as International Baccalaureate (IB) Schools. Headquartered in Switzerland, the IB Programme provides a rigorous, internationally benchmarked curriculum for students from age 3 to 19. Students learn to relate classroom experiences to the larger world, gain an international perspective, and develop a sense of responsibility as global citizens. The program culminates in a diploma that is recognized by the world’s top universities.

The IB community of teachers, parents and administrators—including those in GEMS Education schools—believes passionately in a unique learning experience that encourages students to contribute to a world increasingly shaped by globalization.

Students

Children in GEMS Education schools build an awareness of different cultures and countries at an early age, studying world languages and learning side by side with children from different backgrounds. Children are introduced to a range of languages such as Arabic, Mandarin Chinese, Spanish and American Sign Language, developing the foundations to become multilingual. They also learn about the cultures and customs of the people who speak those languages and the universal values that are accepted and admired in all cultures around the world.
