Our Curriculum

The curriculum develops at each stage of the school,  but even the younger pupils benefit from subject specialism in science, mathematics and French. By Key Stage 3, a broad range of subjects and experiences provide a thorough foundation. At Key Stage 4 and in the Sixth Form, a comprehensive subject choice ensures that a balanced programme of study can be tailored to match individual capabilities and needs.

Our Enrichment Department supports pupils across the spectrum and the curriculum is designed to stretch and challenge all pupils. Co-curricular, cross-curricular and extra-curricular trips and activities, locally and abroad, reinforce the classroom curriculum.

In the Primary School different visitors enrich the school curriculum. Studies are brought to life through touring theatre groups, and local charity representatives who promote community service.

Members of families from other cultures share their experiences. Children participate in hands-on experiences through visits to local sites, and take part in activities in school such as our annual police day in Year 6.

The performing arts is included in our curriculum to give an extra dimension to music, dance and drama. We employ Artis, a performing arts education company which takes an holistic approach to the teaching of Music, Dance and Drama.
