Having moved to Dubai in January I have been working at GEMS Royal Dubai School and have had the opportunity to experience how sport is embraced out here and how keen all the children are when taking part in sport. I’m looking forward to passing on my knowledge and love for sport and ensuring everyone has an opportunity to shine at JPS. I have a real love for taking part and coaching all sports. I would have to say my main passion is cricket and I have been lucky enough to represent my county at cricket and already have started playing cricket and rugby for a club in Dubai. Miss Izza Binni
Head of French

PGCE,
Canterbury Christ Church University, England

Half French, half Moroccan, from a young age Mrs Binnie developed a passion for studying and discovering other languages and cultures. This is the reason why she took a degree in American and English Civilisation and Language in her home country, France. She then moved to the UK, spending two years in Northern Ireland as a Language assistant where she discovered another passion: teaching young people. One year later in 2009, after graduating from her PGCE in Canterbury Christ Church University in England, she became a MFL teacher in a secondary school in Kent. In addition to teaching French, she also had the wonderful opportunity to teach a new curriculum only taught to year 7 and 8, which includes all core subjects and has lots of similarities to primary school teaching as it is enquiry led and learners are able to explore different topics in a variety of subjects using the skills necessary to be successful independent learners. Whilst teaching this innovative curriculum she realised that she particularly enjoyed teaching this way and that primary school teaching was going to be the next step in her career. She enjoys taking an active part into any extracurricular activities, from sports, music, French, drama, art and crafts, to environmental clubs and she always finds pleasure in seeing her students get involved in diverse interests as she believes it is important for our children to be very diverse in their interests and explore their physical, creative, social, political, and career interests with like-minded people.
