Mrs Alex Harrison

FS1 Teacher

Head of Year
Special Honours degree in Geography, University of Hull, UK PGCE St Mary's College, Twickenham, UK Mrs Harrison taught at The Vale Primary School, Epsom, Surrey, UK until 2008 where she was a class teacher as well as the Educational Visits and Geography Coordinator. Mrs Harrison has enjoyed two outstanding years as an FS2 teacher at JPS.


Mrs Susan Price

FS1 Teacher

 
Montessori trained at Montessori College, Wimbledon, UK Mrs Price joins us this year from GEMS Royal Dubai School, where she has enjoyed the EYFS in Foundation Stage 1. She has had wealth of experience of teaching in nursery schools and has also managed a nursery in the UK. Mrs Price is a mother of two boys and is passionate about her family, enjoying cooking and the theatre.

Mrs Katrina Rafferty

FS1 Teacher
CACHE Early Years From 1997-1999, Mrs Rafferty was a Nursery Teacher at the Creative Arts Centre, Dubai. From 1999-2001, Mrs Rafferty took on the role of pre-school class teacher in the Small Hands Nursery, Dubai. From 2001, Mrs Rafferty worked in the Jumeirah English Speaking School, Dubai before joining JPS in September 2009.

Ms Lisa Bruce

FS1 Teacher
BA Social Sciences, Robert Gordon’s University, UK Cert of Education, Aberdeen University, UK Ms Bruce has varied experience of working with children across a range of years, from newborn to late primary. Ms Bruce is a mother of two young children and relocated to Dubai in July 2009.

My name is Michelle Manning and I come from England. I moved to Dubai with my family just over five years ago and since my arrival I have been active within GEMS both as a parent and as a member of staff within Foundation Stage One.
I have really enjoyed teaching at Royal Dubai School and I am excited to be able to continue and enrich my career in my role as Foundation Stage One Teacher at Jumeriah Primary School!
I, together with my class support staff and Foundation Stage One colleagues, strive to create a happy safe environment where each child can explore, acquire knowledge, new skills and confidence with our creative and play-based learning scheme.   Watching the children thrive and grow in confidence is immensely rewarding to see as they begin their life long learning journey.  
I look forward to working with you all as we embark on this amazing learning journey together.

Ms Sally Pedley

NNEB Diploma;  Level 5 in Early Childhood Studies Bradford College, Bradford, West Yorkshire, England

 

 Miss Pedley started at JPS in FS1 in September 2011. Prior to joining JPS she was the senior and then later Junior Nursery Coordinator at Jumeriah International Nursery School.  Before moving to Dubai in 2009 Miss Pedley managed a nursery within a Sure Start Childrens Centre in West Yorkshire, England where she is from. 
Mrs Chloe Hobson-Burch
 
FS2 Teacher
Head of Year
 BA (Ed) (Honours) Degree with Art Specialism, University of Reading, UK Mrs Hobson-Burch taught FS2 for 4 years in the UK. During this time she co-ordinated Science and Art, and led the school in its Creative Curriculum. Mrs Hobson-Burch moved to Dubai in 2009 from Berkshire.
 
Ms Adele Murphy-Graham

Ms Adele Murphy-Graham has had significant Early Years experience in the UK before joining JPS in 2007. Ms Murphy-Graham has enjoyed three fantastic years in FS2. Ms Murphy-Graham looks forward to another very successful year in FS2.
Mrs Donna Grant

 BA (Honours) History of Art & Design and PGCE Primary/Early Years, Manchester Metropolitan University, UK After graduating Mrs Grant worked for 3 years at Lily Lane Infants School in Manchester where she taught both Reception and Year 1, she was also joint Foundation Stage, Science and Design Technology Coordinator. From 2006 to 2008 Mrs Grant has worked in President Hangzhou International School in China as a Year 1 teacher.

Mrs Katherine MacDougall

BSc (Honours) Geography, Manchester University PGCE – Primary 5-11 – Sheffield Hallam University
Mrs MacDougall taught at Mangotsfield Primary School Bristol from 2002-2004. She has also worked as an ICT support teacher and Numeracy coordinator. Mrs MacDougall was a year 2 teacher at JPS until 2007 when she became Head of Year 2.
Ms Emma Hayward

 BA (Honours) Primary Education, North East Wales Institute
Ms Hayward's first teaching post was at Broughton Junior School, Broughton, Wales where she was a Year 3 teacher, Music coordinator, Leader of girls football and Assistant Netball Coach. From 2004 to 2008 Ms Hayward has been a Reception and Year 1 teacher at the Canterbury School, Las Palmas de Gran Canaria where she was also coordinator of Music, ICT and PE.
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
Mrs Rachel Williams

 BA Hons Contemporary Studies, University of Humberside P.G.C.E, De Montfort University, UK Prior to moving to Dubai in 2008, Mrs Williams taught in various primary schools in East Sussex, UK for 11 years. Mrs Williams has taught in both KS1 and KS2 and was Science and Maths Co-ordinator. Whilst teaching at Westfield School she worked alongside other schools to develop a creative curriculum for the County. Mrs Williams has been working as a Foundation 1 teacher at Jumeirah International Nursery, Dubai.
Mrs Gill Pernasilici

 BA (Hons) History, University of Warwick, UK Certificate of Education in Primary/Early Years, Manchester Metropolitan University, UK After teaching at Temple Primary School in Manchester for two years, Ms Hargreaves moved into international teaching. She taught FS2 at Deira International School in Dubai where she was also Foundation Stage Coordinator and Community Service Coordinator. Ms Hargreaves volunteered as a nursery teacher in Malawi for a term prior to teaching FS2 in Shanghai at Yew Chung International School. Before joining JPS, Ms Hargreaves was Early Childhood team leader at the International School of Turin.
Ms Rachael Sampson

 BA Hons Primary Education with QTS (5 to 11 years). Specialising in Physical Education After completing a four year degree at the University of Brighton, Ms Sampson went on to teach at in Infant School in Essex, UK as Reception Teacher. She was also the school’s ICT Co-ordinator. Ms Sampson is an avid swimmer has taken part in many swimming competitions in her youth. She is also a keen netballer and enjoys keeping fit.
Ms Sophie Hartfield

Miss Hartfield began her career in teaching after successfully completing her PGCE in Bath, South West England. Miss Hartfield has just completed her second year, teaching Foundation Stage Two at a school in Surrey, England. During this time Miss Hartfield co-ordinated both Music and ICT subject areas. Miss Hartfield and is very much looking forward to becoming part of the Foundation Stage Two team at JPS this September.

Mrs Karen Albon

I graduated from the University of London with a Bsc (Econ) in Economics and subsequently did my PGCE at the Institue of Education. Having previously taught in a primary school in West London I began teaching at JPS in April 2006. I have worked both full time as a Year 3 class teacher and more recently as a cover teacher in both Year 3 and FS2.

Mrs Nicole Jordan

FS2 Teacher

 BEd Primary with a major in community languages, Melbourne University, Australia. Mrs Jordan started her teaching career in the King River Valley, Melbourne. She has since taught in both rural and city schools throughout Australia, both as a primary school teacher and a language teacher. Mrs Jordan joined JPS in 2007.
