Key Stage 2 Teachers
Fran Brassleay
Head of Key Stage 2 and Year 4 Teacher
Hello, my name is Fran Brassleay I have been teaching for 13 years and have been fortunate enough to teach children from Reception up to Year 6. I have been leading a fantastic Key stage 2 team for 5 years and have enjoyed sharing good practice with colleagues and teaching new initiatives and providing exciting, stimulating opportunities for the children in my care. Last year I led Numeracy and Art and was teacher governor, in previous schools have led Key Stage 1 and managed Science, P.E and History.
In 2004, I took the decision to travel the world for one year which provided me with invaluable insights into the customs and cultures of people in other countries. Two years ago, I was also fortunate enough to be able to teach alongside colleagues in schools in China. This developed a positive link with schools abroad and a way for all involved to improve their teaching and learning and build the confidence of children of all abilities.
I feel privileged and excited to be joining such a creative and dynamic team at GEMS Wellington Primary school, linking together my passion for teaching with travel. I look forward to meeting all the children, parents and staff and am enthusiastic to develop my classroom practise and provide new learning opportunities for the children in school. I believe that every child has the right to succeed and reach their full potential and that everyone working together as a team will help develop the child as a whole.
